For some time we’ve spoken about the problems caused by shipping our manufacturing emissions and waste abroad. For a while it was Bangladesh, then Thailand, now it’s Ghana which is suffering because we in the west don’t want to recycle our own waste.
To be clear, I am not saying that we should not recycle. Of course we should. But who in their right mind thinks that sending our waste to another country, where the labour and environmental laws are not as strong as our own, is a good idea? It’s unethical and it’s environmentally damaging.
We always supply products that are manufactured under strict environmental regulations as close to the point of consumption, and we recycle in the UK and Europe.
We have a long way to go and we need your help.
These are our emissions. We broke it; we own it.
